Upload an existing world

Move a singleplayer or old-host world onto your server without losing anything.

3 min read

  1. 1Stop the server.
  2. 2Zip your world folder locally. On a singleplayer save it is in .minecraft/saves.
  3. 3Upload the zip through the file manager and unzip it in the server root.
  4. 4Make sure the folder name matches level-name in server.properties — it is world by default.
  5. 5Start the server and check the console loads your world instead of generating a new one.
